GSSArchitecture have been working with St Peter and Saint Pauls Church in Moulton, a Grade 1 Listed building incorporating Saxon features, for a number of years. An extensive refurbishment programme was carried out to update the church facilities and meet the needs of a modern church and its community.
Works include an inviting entrance accessible to all, the removal of the pews, installation of a new floor, underfloor heating, adjustable lighting and audio visual facilities – complete with a hot drinks servery in the main body of the church.
The result is a renewed and updated historic building appropriate for 21st century worship with open spaces allowing adaptable, flexible layouts of furniture. Having been closed during the weekdays in recent years, the Church now is now open to visitors throughout the day to enjoy a hot drink and a chat at the newly provided servery area.
With a building now set up to accommodate worship in a variety of formats, the Church can continue to host a number of activities in a warm well-lit environment for the next 800 years.
