Kelmarsh Hall
Northamptonshire
Built in 1732 by James Gibbs, Kelmarsh Hall is surrounded by its estate and beautiful gardens. The hall's elegant 18th century plasterwork is complemented by Nancy Lancaster and John Fowler's 20th Century decoration. This became known as the English Country House style.
GSS has now been working at Kelmarsh Hall for several years. The south pavilion has been converted into a visitor centre and tea-room with toilets, while the first floor has been converted into offices. In the main house the ballroom has been completely restored while a large room in the basement has been restored and refurbished, and is now used for functions.
