Cardiac Centre
Kettering General Hospital

This new Cardiac Centre has been built over the top of an existing single-storey building using a "top hat" technique. This is particularly valuable where space is extremely limited, and in this case the centre has been constructed on an external table top framework.

Facilities within the new centre include a fully-equipped catheterisation laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art imaging and monitoring equipment, a cardiac procedures room for fitting pacemakers, pre-assessment and consultation rooms to enable specialist nurses and doctors to see patients privately both before and after their procedure, and an eight-bed recovery and admission area.

Client: Kettering General Hospital NHS Trust
Value: £4.7m
Completed: June 2006
