Maidwell Hall
Maidwell Hall, an independent boys' school, is located in the rolling countryside of Northamptonshire in the delightful village of Maidwell.
The challenge was to design a large assembly/sports hall with associated squash courts next to the main 17th century Grade 1 listed building. The sports hall also includes a climbing wall built from rock which was specially brought down from the Lake District.
Sensitive choice of materials and the use of a cloister assisted the handling of scale for the building, and have resulted in an attractive yet modern design.
