Integrated surgery unit

Integrated surgery comprised a mix of single storey and three-storey developments of brick construction, with a large atrium containing the main waiting and reception areas. Fully integrated facilities in the form of a one-stop unit are provided, comprising urology, mammography, physiotherapy, endoscopy, and general outpatients' surgery. Upper floors contain administration, on-call suites and general site services.
The unit was constrained by complex site peripherals, with a requirement to link on several floor levels to existing buildings dating from various periods of time.
