Oakham School
This library, information and study centre has a capacity for 30,000 books. The ground floor has a reception and area for browsing through the collections of CDs, tapes, novels, newspapers and magazines while the first floor provides a reference library with individual desk spaces for 100 students.
Indexing is fully computerised and there is a high volume/low velocity heating system especially designed to protect the book bindings.
Other design features include raised floors and dropped ceilings to enable the building to continually accept new technology.
