Main Visitor Entrance
Stamford School
This minimally-framed glazed atrium provides a new main entrance for visitors, with formal access to the school’s main hall and to a new reception on one side, and to a new Research and Learning Centre on the other.
A stainless steel staircase leads to the hall balcony, and then on to a small mezzanine deck, which provides informal seating as well as wi-fi connectivity. This area provides what has become known as the Third Space, where social interaction can be combined with informal learning and discussion.
The project also included a major refurbishment of the Reading Room between School House and the 500-year-old Chapel.
