This new Children’s Centre acts as the main access point for “Woodnewton – a Learning Community”, and includes a new nursery, a feature external play area, a community hall, a social open meeting area and new offices for the head teacher and bursar. There are also private consulting rooms and meeting rooms. Head teacher Ellen Wallace said, “We are extremely pleased with the building’s design and how spaces flow into one another. It is bright and bold and connects our existing Key Stage One and Key Stage Two buildings very effectively.”
The project was completed within budget. As well as undertaking the design GSS acted as quantity surveyors and project managers.
