As part of the celebrations for the 140th Anniversary of GSSArchitecture, we are holding a number of events throughout the year, hosted by each of our offices across the country. January saw the first of these events in Newcastle, with the second being last night at East 59th in Leeds City Centre. Both events were enjoyed by a number of clients and guests from the region, and saw a suitable start to a year of celebration for GSSArchitecture.
Later in the year staff will be taking part in a charity event, choosing from either a 140 mile bike ride from coast to coast (Whitehaven to Whitely Bay) or a 17 mile walk along Hadrian’s Wall, in Northumberland National Park. GSS charity fundraising carried out this year will be in support of MIND, a charity which offers information and advice to people with mental health challenges, and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf.
In addition, GSS staff will be carrying out 140 hours of volunteer work to mark the 140 years since the Practice was founded. All staff will be taking part in the voluntary work, which we will organise for ourselves in various teams, and carry out over the course of the year. Last week staff from our Harrogate studio volunteered at Henshaws Specialist College, a charity supporting people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities. Their Specialist College offers a personalised approach to education, learning and care by empowering young people aged 16-25 living with a disability to progress and live life to full. Keep an eye on our social media accounts for updates on these various events and activities as they happen.
