Following our extensive £6.7 million expansion and redevelopment programme, we’re delighted to see that Northampton Museum & Art Gallery will be reopening it’s doors on the 10th July 2021!
In addition to new and improved gallery spaces, areas for social interaction have been created which have transformed the building into a destination that will keep visitors engaged and coming back for repeat visits. With the addition of a nine-metre-high glazed atrium extension, linking the original building to brand new galleries and activity space, the museum in Guildhall Road has more than doubled in size.
Tom Jagger, Associate and Lead Architect, said, “We’re delighted that this exciting public building can now re-open in its new form. It will be truly exciting to see the public experience the building, as Northampton town centre continues to re-open we believe that the expanded museum will assume a new, more central role as a community hub within the developing cultural quarter.“
If you can’t wait until July check out these before & after photos showing the significant transformation the museum has undergone, including the new courtyard #extension, link space and #refurbished galleries.
